DESCRIPTION:UTSA Quantum Research Cluster invites Dr. Asma Al-Qasimi\, Visiting Scientist of Quantum Optics Theoretical in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Rochester\, to present the seminar “Measures of Quantum Entanglement”. \nAbstract: Entanglement is\, according to Schrödinger\, “the characteristic trait of quantum mechanics”\, and\, in the last three decades\, it has been accepted as the star that needs to be invested in to build powerful quantum computers. In this talk\, I will discuss some measures of entanglement and the ideas behind them\, with applications in various physical contexts.
