The institute is actively engaged in the training of UTSA students and faculty to migrate their computing applications to the UTSA Cloud and to use the cloud for instructional needs. Â OCI resources provide extensive support for curricular development, workforce training for students, and research by faculty who use clouds for research applications or investigate the design of clouds.
In close collaboration with the departments in various colleges, an in-house internship program has been established to allow students at UTSA and the local community to do sponsored internships while making progress on their degree plans. These internships will provide students invaluable experiences much like those they would gain from on-site internships at the sponsoring companies.
The institute also promotes the publication of students’ research findings in prestigious, peer reviewed research journals and the presentation of the same at Local, National and International cloud computing conferences by providing specialized cloud computing environments, assistantships, and travel funds.
The OCI hosts a Distinguished Seminar Series with speakers from industry and academia.
